I would like to share with you a few truths I have come to realize over the years; 1) Books are fantastic, 2) Contests to win books are also awesome, and 3) Winning said contest is the best feeling EVER!!! I think you know where I'm going with this. Anyway today I received a package from Simon & Schuster with the entire Chemical Garden series. It was a total surprise, I didn't get a conformation e-mail or anything  but it was quite welcome. I have already read the whole series but I read them all on my kindle so having the physical copies are great! I plan on rereading them soon so I can review them here. Maybe tomorrow I can tell you the story about the time I got an ARC, I guess we'll see ;).

An Explanation

So I haven't been on in a while and by awhile I mean a couple months. One of the reasons for this was that I was just in my schools play Peter Pan. Midterms, the holidays, and the play have kept me busy. Another thing is I have been having some trouble figuring out what I'm going to write in these posts. I think I'm going to try book reviews and other book related things. So if your reading this I hope you remain patient with me as I try to make this into a decent blog.

Let the 2012 Holiday Season Commence!

Okay, now that we have our introductions out of the way I think that we can get down to business. Today I will be sharing with you a family tradition of mine that has been going on since I was a little girl, The Return of Angry Mom! Now you might be thinking that I'm over exaggerating  but let me elaborate. First of all my mom is one of the nicest, most easygoing people I know and usually is great to be around. That all changes when she cleans. The second she starts cleaning the house its like a switch has been flipped, no longer is my mother kind and a little A.D.D. but a cleaning monster. She gets angry over the littlest things and starts yelling at everyone to get out of her way. It is not uncommon for my younger siblings to be in tears after one of her tirades. This metamorphosis usually only happen during the days prior to a big holiday event like, Thanksgiving or Christmas, and usually ends when people arrive. This Thursdays Thanksgiving, let the holiday season begin!

Welcome all to my new blog! For clarification this is also my first blog and God only knows how this will play out. I guess some introductions should be made as this is supposed to be an introduction, so hello people of the internet my name is Maggie and I will be your blogger for this post. I am obsessed with reading, writing, music, movies, and story telling over all. I aspire too be an author but for now I hope blogging will be good practice.
